IBM unveils the fastest computer in the world |
The company launched the name Summit on the new device, which had been in operation for years and announced last year about the possibility of completion of construction after a year.
The device can handle 200,000,000 operations with 4,608 internal servers with the 22-core IBM Power9 processors. The device also has six Tesla V100 graphics processors and more than 10 bits of memory.
IBM has collaborated with NVIDIA, RedHat, and InfiniBand to produce this powerful device, all in partnership with the US Department of Energy, which will often use such a device to carry out its own huge operations.
The machine is characterized by the characteristics of artificial intelligence and machine learning, which will benefit users in the operations faster and better.
This type of device is called a supercomputer because of its ability to do things that ordinary computers can not do, and IBM was able to climb the top again years after the Chinese device Sunway TaihuLight top of the fastest computer in the world.
